night drive video test
Still haven’t had the time to mess with settings, but all the tests I’ve ran it’s been 100% reliable, here is a night drive… low light has drastically improved. Obviously this camera doesn’t have the depth of field like my Sony zv-1, but it’s making me think about selling the Sony
PHOTOBOOK TITLE UPDATE
A TITLE CHANGED ENDED UP BEING APPROPRIATE FOR THIS BOOK DUE TO THE FACT THE WORD “VARIANT” WAS BEING FLAGGED ON SOCIAL MEDIA, CAUSING CONTENT TO BE HEAVILY GHOSTED AN AVERAGE OF 70% LESS VIEWERSHIP ON INSTAGRAM, AND AROUND 90% ON FACEBOOK.
“A FAIR” IS A PHOTOBOOK SAGA / SERIES THAT I PLAN TO CONTINUE YEARLY… AND I HAVE DECIDED TO CHANGE THE TITLE TO “A FAIR RETURN” WHICH IS NOT THAT OBVIOUS OF POINTING OUT THE TIME OF THIS PROJECT DURING A CONTINUED PANDEMIC, BUT A WRITTEN INTRODUCTION IN THE BOOK WILL TIE THAT TOGETHER.
THE TITLE CHANGE IS JUST A TITLE CHANGE AND DOES NOT CAUSE ANY ISSUES WITH PRE-ORDERS

Had a great extended weekend with Ryder, we got to celebrate his birthday in spurts over time, which was a lot of fun!
Spin-N-Win!
Had a great time celebrating ryders 9th birthday at Dave and busters! My old roommate and homie to the heart pat “doot” came with us and we gamed for hours, combined tickets and ryder got quite the rad collection of prizes!
I gotta say that prizes are way more able to be redeemed than back in the 90’s, which was cool to see. A lot of fun games, and I’ll probably be posting more photos and making a short video talking about it and the use of the new black pro mist filter I’ve been using on my cAmera!
Certified Lover Boy
Here I talk producing and deploying content and how CLB hyped me up even more about the importance of putting work out into the world!
New setup for serious content flow. One of the things I’ve learned other than the must need of having a setup and having things ready, is having the right tool (or a tool) for the job. Editing requires time and attention, while distribution is about efficiency and the best way to deploy the content, that’s where the iPad comes in. Preparing and posting as I’m editing, or with the beauty of the iPad mini 5, shockingly it fits in my small Domke camera bag to produce on the go. This workflow will get myself more organized and deploy much more content on the blog, Instagram, and Patreon!
making things happen
this is me, at my first computer back in 2005
as i’m prepping a new way of deploying content, i’ve been thinking about the beginnings, and what i’ve learned over the years
- The first guy through the wall always gets bloody. Always.
and i’m still charging forward!

Sad to hear today about the passing of local skateboarding og Erick Maurer.
RIP
After hearing of this, I’ve been thinking about my days of photographing skateboarding… skateboarding is so unique, you make skate friends which looking back, we would spend more time together than any other type of typical friendship, it would be common to have skate sessions be 4-6 hours and we would skate almost daily.
Time is the craziest thing, and I think capturing time is a big reason why I enjoy photographing.
Photo days concluded - now it’s time for editing
With photographing for my upcoming book has concluded, I’m looking forward to sharing the editing process. Thank you for your initial support! Pre-order my photo book A Fair Variant here 📷📕 all pre-orders will also receive a exclusive archival print of a photo that won’t be in the book!
The Shadowgraph
I’m excited to announce the revival of the shadowgraph - it was launched at the beginning of covid, and really once the state mandates and lockdown situation happened… the steam went out on it, I also think I was overthinking on the actions needed for the Shadowgraph.
so, what is the Shadowgraph?
it is “photographic case studies” which is essentially storytelling, and when I just mentioned that I was overthinking at the time and to be honest when I look back… using the lockdown or covid was probably just a excuse without realizing at the time.
the stories don’t need to be big, and maybe should not be big.. but will be a path to something greater. It’s about getting out, making photographs and just tell stories photographically.
making books is the goal. But each individual story doesn’t have to be a process of a book on that exact story.

I picked up photography during high school, but it was the last 10 years that has really shaped me as an artist.. and learning life long lessons from the pioneers - as pictured Lynch/Eggleston/Avedon/Soth - these are some of the main players but many more I also appreciate.
i have been putting in the hours photographing at the fair. I’ve been hyper focused on the work, so barely… and I mean barely any video has been filmed, but I hope to have at least one more visit depending on the weather, which I will get a video made on that trip for sure.. if not, I’ll be uploading one talking about the process, and showing another photo or two from the upcoming book a fair variant
